Our Story
The inspiration for Box Cafe was born out of a husband and wife’s love for creative baking and cooking from the heart, most of which has taken place in Jersey City - our home for almost 25 years! Our passion to live, work and play in our beloved neighborhood led us to funnel our energy into Box Cafe. We’re on a mission to offer homemade baked goods and whole quality dishes that cater to the diverse people of Jersey City, all in a cozy setting that reflects our own home design.
Linda’s insatiable sweet tooth, adventures as a foodie and obsession with home decor led her from the dynamic business world of real estate into the allure of utilizing the location most dear to her heart (her own neighborhood) to give back to the community through opening a cafe. While Sean has been growing his global business out of nearby Hoboken, his entrepreneurial spirit was always enhanced by his quest for the perfect use of ingredients using classic French techniques in his own kitchen every night. Now, we’re joining together the skills and energy that we’ve utilized for years hosting in our own home to bring a new concept to Jersey City - locally sourced, quality meals for people on the go looking for food that’s “homemade.”
